The Short Version
Pokémon Battles is designed to be safe for kids. We don't collect personal data, we don't use tracking cookies, we don't show ads, and we don't sell anything. Your privacy is completely protected.
Information We Don't Collect
Unlike most websites, we intentionally avoid collecting data:
- No personal information — We don't ask for emails, passwords, phone numbers, or real names
- No tracking cookies — We don't track you across websites
- No analytics — We don't use Google Analytics or similar services
- No advertising — We don't show ads or share data with advertisers
What We Do Store
The game saves your progress locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This includes:
- Your player name (just a nickname you choose)
- Points you've earned
- Items you've purchased in the shop
- Pokémon you've caught
This data never leaves your device. It stays in your browser and isn't sent to any server. If you clear your browser data, your game progress will be reset.
Online Battles
If you use the online battle feature to play with friends, we store:
- A randomly generated player ID (not connected to you personally)
- Your chosen player name (just a nickname)
- Friend connections (who you've added as friends via invite codes)
- Battle history between you and your friends
This data is stored on our server to enable the friend and battle features. It contains no personally identifiable information — just nicknames and game data.
Children's Privacy
Pokémon Battles is designed for children and families. We comply with the spirit of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by:
- Not collecting personal information from anyone
- Not requiring account registration or email addresses
- Not including chat features or user-generated content
- Not showing advertisements
- Not including in-app purchases or real money transactions
Third-Party Services
Pokémon Battles loads Pokémon images from the PokeAPI sprite repository (hosted on GitHub). This is a public repository of Pokémon artwork. No personal data is shared with this service.
Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy, you can reach us through our website. Since we don't collect email addresses, the best way to contact us is through social media or by visiting our About page.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. But honestly, our policy is simple: we don't collect your data, and that's not going to change.
